The view from Fareham Wine Cellar!
I just tried to capture the latest deluge and hail storm in Fareham High Street.
And another rainy Fareham High Street photograph
Funnily enough there are not many customers out buying wine in this! I haven’t seen rain like this for a long time. I am not looking forward to seeing the state of my tomato crop, but I feel, with all this rain I am probably going to be blighted by tomato blight anyway.
On a more serious note,
If we don’t get some warm, dry sunny weather soon there will be all sorts of problems with downy mildew, powdery mildew and botrytis. That is, if they have had decent flowering, pollination and fruit set. I haven’t spoken to the guys at Meonhill Wines yet to find out how badly they are suffering yet. And let’s not forget the farmers. Broccoli and cauliflower crops have been practically wiped out, corn is struggling and potatoes are rotting in the fields.
Here’s to an Indian Summer.
